Hello and welcome to Toque’s Blog. “Toque” refers to the tall white pleated hat historically worn by classically trained French Chefs. Although few professional chefs wear “Chef Toques” today, I believe this iconic symbol still represents the high standards of performance and comportment sought by our Clients and required of our Private Chefs.
Toque’s Blog is more than a personal commentary it is also a resource for our Clients and our Chefs. Talk Toque posts the latest news from Toque and commentary on all things culinary. Private Chef Dossier provides our Clients exclusive access to Bios on each of their Private Chef Applicants. Mise en Place allows Toque Private Chefs to continuously train by sharing ideas and recipes. Toque Private Chefs displays chefs recently placed in a private chef job by Toque.

The Private Chef Luxe Experience offers all-day exclusive service from one of Toque’s Private Chefs. This typically involves three (3) full-service dining experiences per day: one (1) breakfast, (1) lunch, (1) dinner. However, Toque will tailors the service to meet your specific needs or desires.
In addition to meal service Toque’s Private Chef prepares snacks to enjoy between meals and serves hors d’ourves before each evening’s dinner. Toque’s Private Chef procures all ingredients, prepares each meal from starch, sets the table, serves drinks and the meal, and clean up afterwards. Should additional staff be appropriate then Toque will arrange for a professional waiter or bartender at no extra cost.
Prior to the beginning of service Toque consults with you on menu selection, dietary guidelines and preferences, wine and beverage service, and meal schedule.
The Private Chef Luxe Experience is purchased on a per-person-per-day basis. The fees are inclusive of all costs of the service including all menu items and meal ingredients, table settings when necessary, chef travel and lodging when necessary, and additional staff when necessary. Fees range from $1800.00 to $7600.00.

Febrary 2008 Toque placed Private Chef Melody Pate in New Orleans, Louisiana. Melody is an accomplished chef with restaurant ownership experience and a Zagat food rating of 28.
